I want to help you advocate for yourself, or for your family and friends. I want you to be able to benefit from my hard won wisdom, which have often been difficult. It is possible to have disability pride and positivity and still acknowledge that disability can also suck. Hard.

Bob Newhart
I was looking for something to watch this morning on Prime Video, and I came across this 50 minute video called Bob Newhart: Off the Record (1992). I watched it (Newhart looked so young.) It was a compilation of him doing a live performance of a few of his old bits that were on his records that my dad played in the sixties.
I recognized a couple of the bits—if you’ve heard the records, you might find it fun to hear them again. If you’re unfamiliar with Newhart’s pre-tv material, you might want to check it out.
Dad is Calling?
I was lying in bed watching this random show and one of Newhart’s imaginary characters is named “Mr. Adams.” I imagined my dad smiling at me. (Dad passed away a couple of years ago.)
It was pretty cool.
