Demoralizing. That’s what these disability indignities are. Did they wind up approving you?

Demoralizing is probably the perfect word for it.

I was a little disappointed with my doctor that she didn’t go in guns a’blazin, but her first letter was pretty mild. I put together a statement with the pics of my skin and it was faxed in three times along with a stronger letter from my doctor. After waiting and not hearing back for 2 weeks, I called and the very polite woman said the package of information I described hadn’t been “logged in.” So my doctor’s assistant faxed it a 4th time.

And then it was approved in 72 hours.

I may have implied in my statement that if they didn’t wave the exercise requirement that I would file a discrimination grievance… Which I would have.

I started the lowest dose (you titrate up over a few months) on my own dime: $1,300 for 4 shots. With the insurance it is $30/per month.

Wow…I have to say, I’m getting tired of us having to be this damned persistent and “resilient.” And I’ve only had to be this way for four years so far. You must be BEYOND tired of it.

It takes little pieces out of me I think. And I do spare a thought for all the people who don’t have the wherewithal to fight and not take the first few noes for an answer.

Did you ever get an answer from your hearing on disability?

That makes sense. Advocacy is in your bones.

No, no word yet. The judge said 30 days. It has now been something like 75.

Yeah, I love how administrative agencies shoot you down if you blow their deadlines but think nothing of blowing their deadline to get back to you.
